Matt JaworskiFreelance web developer • Open Source expert • Star Trek geek • Coffee junkie
Hello,
My name is Matt Jaworski, I am 25 years old and live in Szczecin, Poland.
I have worked as a web developer since 2005. In my career I have finalized dozens of projects involving creating, modifying, extending, integrating of PHP software - mostly Open Source solutions such as Joomla!, Magento, Wordpress, Vanilla, with occasional "adventures" with proprietary/closed-source projects.
Personally
In my spare time I enjoy good science-fiction novels and films. Star Trek has its own special place in my sci-fi world. I have watched literally the entire canon of few hundred hours of TV shows and films, and there is a 50-inch Starship Enterprise painting on my wall. My musical taste is rather varied but tends toward heavier genres (metal, dark independent) and some of the electronic family (drum'n'bass, dubstep).
I try to lead a healthy and balanced lifestyle - I am an addicted runner (10-20 times a month) and from time to time also do some swimming and biking.
how I can help your business
Professional services
My services include: developing, modifying, extending, integrating, debugging and optimizing of software written in PHP (and Python with some limitations): CMS, CRM, Billing, E-Commerce, Blogging, Discussion Boards, Mass Mailing etc. I specialize in Open Source systems, although I have significant experience with proprietary systems.
Workflow
I provide application development on a project basis. I can work alone or with your existing team. I use versioning (SVN, Git) and can blend myself into your team's workflow and collaboration techniques. Before you know it, the job is done, changes commited and documentation created.
1. Extensions & modifications
I live and breathe components, modules, plugins, extensions and modifications of Open Source and proprietary software. My experience includes (to name a few) Joomla!, WHMCS, Wordrpess, Magento, Vanilla, Virtuemart, OSCommerce... I can work with any system, the only requirements are some time and coffee.
3. Debugging & support
If you are using an Open Source or custom built application that looks and/or acts broken, I can help you by debugging and fixing the misbehaving software.
2. API & integrations
Everything that is based on interconnecting multiple platforms and systems - making them work together and share data. Examples include synchronizing user sign-ups from your website (eg Joomla!) to CRM (like Sugar or Infusionsoft), or from Billing (eg WHMCS) to Newsletter System (eg ConstantContact), plugging in CDN/Cloud Storage etc, Using APIs provided or custom built APIs, over LAN, or over the Internet.
4. Scaling & refactoring
If your application seems to be doing its job, but is very slow, drops connections, loses sessions or kills the database, you may need your code reviewed and optimized - fix programming that need to be revamped, redesign the database. I can also provide some advice about hosting, implementing cloud storage/content delivery networks, or even dedicated clustered environments.

Please note: this section only features some of the projects I have finalized.
Almost half of my freelance jobs are based on non-disclosure agreements that explicitly forbid me to put the job in my portfolio.

My customers, and co-workers about me
Matt is doing a great job and every company would be lucky to have him. I've been doing Joomla sites for years and his response was the first time anyone has ever added a personal touch to a help request. It was very nice, thanks for that.
Matt is focused and dedicated. He has a level of pride that is rare in today's marketplace and even more rare for someone his age. He is responsible and has a keen sense of what is best for his client. Matt thinks through the real-world application of what he is producing and does whatever it takes for all affected to be extremely pleased with the result. Matt is driven. He gets in the yoke with the client. Your project is his project. Matt is a outstanding communicator. He is straight-forward and confident enough to express his opinions and give input, but does it in a very respectful way that often leads to fertile soil for the birth of new and better ideas. Give Matt a shot and you will not be disappointed.
Matt did a great job developing a custom Joomla reporting component for a client of mine. He did this quickly and at a very reasonable price. I look forward to our next project together.
Matt is an engineer who can simply do the job right. No hassle, no missing deadlines and the estimate was right on target. I'm looking forward to our future work together again.
Matt is an excellent programmer with extensive knowledge and experience. Exhibit a professional approach to every task. He is highly communicative and fully active in the group. Working with him was pure pleasure.
